12/31/1969 - Going out in Houston--A Guy's Perspective

Alright fellas, so it's the weekend--you don't have to work, you just got paid, and you're ready to step out.  What next?  Well, there are some rules for going out in Houston.  If you follow them all then you're sure to have a good time!

Rule #1--Choose your friends wisely.

Just because you're going out on the town doesn't mean you have to bring an entourage.  Invite just a friend or two to come along.  That friend that never has money to pay and always wants to start a fight--yeah, leave him at home.

Rule #2--Know your comfort zone.

Not every venue is going to fit your personality and mood.  Pick the club or bar that's going to play the music you want to hear, serve the drinks you want to drink, and attract the ladies that you want to talk to.  Search the Houston Night Out website for clubs and bars on your favorite side of town that offer exactly what you want.

Rule #3--Abide by the dress code.

Most clubs and bars are strict about the dress code for guys.  Be careful if you decide to wear a baseball cap and tennis shoes--not every place will let you in.  Avoid embarrassment and losing parking money by checking the dress code before you arrive.

Rule #4--Don't be cheap.

Be prepared to spend a little cash.  Everything from parking, to cover charges, to drinks are going to chip away at the cash in your pocket.  It's okay to part with a little money to have a good time, especially if you want to party VIP style or you like to buy drinks for the ladies.  If you don't want to carry too much cash on you, bring a credit card so you can open a tab at the bar.

Rule #5--Have a good time.

Relax and enjoy yourself!  If you've chosen a place where you feel comfortable, you look good, and you have money in your pocket, then there's no excuse for not having a good time.  Make sure you post a review on Houston Night Out's website and let everybody know how much fun you had!
